CoHiv exists because most property-management software was built for a country with reliable broadband, one currency and one payment rail. Ours wasn't. So we wrote the platform that assumes the realities of African residential life — and turned them into product, not excuses.

The story
The book of receipts that started everything.
CoHiv began with a notebook. A treasurer in a 200-unit Lagos estate kept a hardcover ledger of every levy collected and every expense paid. When the treasurer travelled, the ledger travelled with them. When the ledger went missing, half the year's records went with it.
The committee tried spreadsheets. Then WhatsApp. Then a property-management SaaS that didn't accept M-Pesa, didn't speak Swahili, and didn't understand why a ZAR-denominated unit needed a GBP-denominated invoice for a diaspora owner. Every tool solved one problem and created two more.
We built CoHiv because the answer wasn't another point solution. The answer was an operating system — one identity layer, one audit trail, one notification fabric, one source of financial truth — designed from the ground up for how estates in Africa actually run.
We don't replace the treasurer. We make the ledger impossible to lose.
